Larry the Resident cat

Once upon a time...

a black and white tom cat tried a spot of cat burglary in through the window of what was the old pet grooming room here in O'Dowd Veterinary Hospital. We had no idea what he was trying to achieve. Perhaps he just wanted some attention or maybe he just hoped to annoy Anki our resident Groomer? Alas, after several grooming room break-ins we decided to do a spot of detective work and try to find out if anyone owned him. No neighbours or locals claimed him.

So, we proceeded to give this very self-assured tom cat a complete clinical work up. This involved some very brave veterinary team members taking on with this feisty cat (he likes to scratch when he's annoyed). We ran a FeLV/FIV blood test to assess if he was positive for either disease (fortunately he got the all clear), turned this entire tom cat into a male neutered cat with a castration and a broad spectrum flea and worm dose. We also microchipped Larry to ensure if he rambled he could be traced back to us. That was that...like many good stray cats this black and white cat adopted us.

And finally...we gave him a name. Larry. For 'Happy as Larry'.
